Eleanora M. Hope, 65
October 19, 1945 to Octoboer 26, 2010
Eleanora died at a local Sioux City, IA
hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Services were held at Riverside Lutheran Church,
with the Rev. Charles B. Wolff officiating. Interment was at Graceland Park
Cemetery.
Eleanora was born on Oct. 19, 1945, the daughter
of Frederick and Annie J. LaBeau in Cheyenne Agency, S.D.
She attended and graduated from Sisseton
High School in Sisseton,
S.D. In July of 1972, she moved to Sioux
City and was employed with Zenith Corporation until
the plant closed. She then attended Western Iowa Tech where she received her
degree. During her final year of college she served an internship with
Mid-American Energy, and following her graduation, she accepted full-time
employment with Mid-American, where she continued to work until her retirement
in 2007.
She was united in
marriage to Ronald Hope on Oct. 1, 1982, in Elk Point, S.D.
Eleanora enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking her
famous potato salad, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and working in her
garden. She was an avid fan of watching professional golf and football, and was
a fan of the Minnesota Vikings. She was an intelligent, happy woman who was
admired for her strength and honesty.
She will be missed by her family
which includes her loving husband of 28 years Ronald; her daughter Lana Gardner
(Kenny) of Sioux City, and her son Devlin
Robertson (Jody) of Sioux City.
She is also survived by her two brothers Pat and Burke, her three sisters, Sheral LaCroix, Susan Ducheneaux and Flora Odegaard;
her stepchildren, Michael Hope (Michelle), Brian Hope (Mindy), Sean Hope
(Kerry), C.J. Hope (Chris), Heidi Spike (Ron), Holly Frerichs
(Dale), and Rob Hope. She is also survived by her 25 grandchildren.
Eleanora was preceded in death by her parents; two
brothers; and two sisters.
