On 15 August 2009, I received the following message from Myron Moen on his "SOUTH DAKOTA BASKETBALL BUS" he has built:

Hi David:

Just wanted to let you know some info about the bus. We have completed the first phase
You can see the updated pictures on the internet. I will try and forward that link to you later.
This may make it easier for some to log right on. My boy sent me that link and info. This has been a fun project. Will be at Potato Days Parade in Oldham on Saturday and hope to have the bus at the Turner County Fair in Parker next week.

I wish I could give you all the names of the players. There are just too many to mention. I would say that Sisseton and Roberts County are well represented. I only wish the pictures were more clear and readable. I guess they just need to see the bus. All the outstanding players are on one side of the bus. This will be updated monthly. The inside of the bus has a list of successful coaches just as you enter the bus. There names and school coached at is etched on the inside walls. The undefeated teams are on the other side of the bus. The pictures are much clearer. We are waiting for three more teams roster and they will be put on the bus.  We also have listed the name and mascot or nicknames of 67 old schools. Ex-Peever Panthers- Corona Midgets-Polo Bears-Lyons Lions-Claire City Comets. If you went to one of these schools that were closed it may just be on the bus. In total there are over 170 schools listed on the bus. It has been a great History lesson and learning experience for me.

I started the project in January of this year. I drove the bus home from Weatherford, Okla.
My brother Randy lived there at the time.  At 5 MPG it was an expensive drive home but worth it all.

It has been quite an experience. The bus is 40 feet long and had 22 seats. I have sold all but six of them. So far during my refurbishing project, I started my coat on fire, the bus on fire, a seat on fire and have numerous cuts and scrapes. I think this will be my last major project.  It was not as bad as sliding down hiway 81 face first. I have been feeling much better. Thanks to all who sent cards, letters and calls.

See the bus at South Dakota Basketball Bus, fan page on Face Book. I have contacted over 100 coaches and players to gather the names of the outstanding players. I just sit by the bus and look at those names and am amazed at all the great SDak basketball players.
Knowing I have recorded only a few. I am so proud to have played for the Sisseton Redmen
and been part of such a rich tradition . I look back at the 61 Redmen Annual and really its all hard to believe, even today.  Your picture next to Himle is a classic. I will count the number of players from Sisseton on the bus one day.

I just want to say thanks to all of my classmates, coaches and friends who have helped me
